George Murphy

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of George Alexander Murphy, who passed away at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the age of 70. Loving husband to Patricia Moriarity "Edith" and proud father of Ann (Chris) Lowery, Bryan (Gerda) Murphy and Christy Murphy. Pre-deceased by parents George and Barbara Murphy. George is the cherished brother to the late Ron (late Vicky), Bill (Carolann), Dave (Debbie), the late Randy (Lynne) and Brad (Terry). Loving step-father to Lori Francis, Carrie Moriarity (Jack) and Brenda Moriarity. Grieving the loss of George are many nieces and nephews. Papa will forever be cherished by grandchildren Jocelyn (Ryan) Hartwick, Jacelyn (Joe) Hartwick, Alexander Lowery, Kayla (Paul) Murphy, Zachary Murphy, Cassandra (Dylan) Lowery, Samuel Lake, Kyle Murphy, Liam Murphy, Maddy-Lynn Murphy, Heidi Murphy and great-grandchildren Deviron, Deklan, Mikalyn, Bellamy and Leo. Papa will be missed by step-grandchildren Alexandria Moriarity, Tyler Young, Matthew Francis, Nicholas (Brittney) Francis, Jacob (Sarah) Francis with their children Carter and Stella Francis. George’s genuine warm hugs, laugh, jokes and pranks will forever be cherished and missed by all who were at the receiving end.

In keeping with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to the Verona Lions Hall on Saturday, February 18, 2023 to celebrate George’s life from 2-6pm.
