Tammy Scott Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce that on Monday November 6, 2023, Tammy passed at Kingston Health Science Centre surrounded by her loving family at the age of 60. She will be forever missed by her devoted husband Shermon of 41 years. Cherished mother of Becci (Robby) Barker, Jessie (Adam) Peters, Adam (Tanya) Scott, Justin Reddick, Cody Pitchie, Norman Harris and Anthony Kinkley-Dale. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Austin and Haylee Barker, Kiptyn and Nevaeh Peters, Braeden, Noah and Arabella Scott. Beloved sister of Lee (Judy) Thompson, Polly (Stephen) McCullough, Richard (Colleen) Thompson, Lindy (Brian) Stewart as well as sister-in-law Nancy Thompson. Tammy will be missed by her nieces and nephews, friends and many other relatives. Predeceased by her parents Merrill and Betty Thompson as well as her brother Larry Thompson.

Tammy was a hard-working woman. She started her career off working in shoe manufacturing at Brown Shoe, she then went on to be a PSW working in Home Care, and after her children were born, she stayed home to raise them.  Later in life, when her children were grown, Tammy and her family became Foster Guardians for Partners in Therapeutic Foster Care.  This took a lot of patience but Tammy devoted her heart to the children she and her family brought in.  She was the biggest advocate for the most vulnerable people and would stand for what they deserved.  Once the children were all grown and independant, Tammy took some time to be a Grandma, she would watch her Grandchildren and support wherever she could.  Tammy was always a go-getter, she needed to be busy and at no surprise she wanted to find work that would allow her to be social and get out of the house but to have the flexibility to be there for her family.  Tammy started driving a School Bus for Martians Bus Services.  Tammy just loved driving the bus, she enjoyed seeing the little ones on their first day of school standing out to catch the bus for the very first time.  She always spoke about the students she drove and how giving the children a little respect goes a long way.  Tammy drove the most challenging students and some of the most challenging runs but "NEVER" did this phase her.  She had this way about herself, where she was able to laugh it off.  Tammy lived a wonderful life, her friendships encompassed all aspects of life, and each was special to her. From phone call chats, a good morning hello, to family gatherings, adventures near and far, to helping in times of sadness and difficulty or celebrating in times of joy, Tammy was up for it all...She was the friend who would give you the shirt from her back, who always thought of others before herself and the biggest cheerleader to her loved ones.  Tammy knew what to say and made every effort to make sure that we each felt her love.  Tammy will be remembered for her dedication to her community, her infectious laughter and love for life itself.  We are grateful that our families and many others have been a part of her story and share her legacy.   Mom, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, you're always at our side.

A visitation will be held at the Goodfellow’s Funeral Home, Parham on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11:00 am.
