Mary Peters (nee LaPointe)
It is with the sadness of great loss but the assurance of eternal life we announce that Mary Peters has completed her earthly journey on December 21st, 2019 and has taken up residence in her heavenly home.
Mary was born to Samuel and Edna LaPointe of Parham on June 23rd, 1937. She was the beloved wife of Boyce, for sixty years, and they shared many of life’s highs and lows together. As the loving mother of Craig (Marcia), she was one of his biggest encouragers and supporters.
She was “Nan/Nanny” to her grandkids Brittany (Matthew) Craven, Breanna (Nick) Deveau, Dominic Peters and her great grandkids, Isabella, Lily, Carson and Eleanor. They will always remember how she was there for each of them with her genuine love and concern.
To her remaining brother, Joe (Rose) Lapointe, and remaining sister, Gloria (Ken) McEwen, she was a cherished sister and friend.
To her nieces and nephews, she was “Aunt Mary”. To the generations of students who had her as a teacher at Hinchinbrooke Public School, she was “Mrs. Peters”.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Goodfellow’s Funeral Home, Parham, on Friday December 27th from 1 - 3 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. The celebration of Mary’s life will take place on Saturday December 28th at 11 a.m. in Verona Free Methodist Church. Interment will be at Parham Cemetery followed by a reception at Parham Free Methodist Church.
Donations in her memory may be made to Polson Park Free Methodist Church (where Craig pastors in Kingston) or Cornerstone Wesleyan Church (where Boyce and Mary attended in North Gower).
Special thanks to Dr. Luong for her kind and personal care and to the great nursing staff at Kemptville District Hospital. Your compassion made a difference.
